Wake Up America!

Great, great grandfathers watched as their friends died in the Civil War.

Great grandfathers watched as their friends died in WW II.

My father watched as his friends died in Vietnam.

None of them died for the Mexican Flag. Everyone died for the American flag.

Texas high school students raised a Mexican flag on a school flag pole, other students took it down. Guess who was expelled...the students who took it down.

California high school students were sent home on Cinco de Mayo, because they wore T-shirts with the American flag printed on them.

Enough is enough.

This message needs to be viewed by every American; and every American needs to stand up for America.

We've bent over to appease the America-haters long enough. I'm taking a stand.

I'm standing up because the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country, and for the American flag.

If you agree, stand up with me. If you disagree, please let me know. I will gladly remove you from my e-mail list.

And shame on anyone who tries to make this message racist.

AMERICANS, stop giving away Your RIGHTS!

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1st John 1:9



Mary had gone to several psychologists and psychiatrists, and even religious leaders, seeking help, but no one had been able to help her. Her problem - she was plagued with a deep sense of guilt. Mary had been sexually promiscuous as a teenager, and prior to that she had been violated by her step-father who had taken advantage of her when she was a very young girl.

All of this tormented her greatly, but no one had taken her to the Word of God to help her understand that she did not have to carry the burden of her own sin. There is forgiveness. Scripture teaches that if we confess our sins, God is waiting to forgive and cleanse us.

There are three things we need to know about confession. First, the word "confess" means, in the original Greek language, "to agree with." If I agree with God concerning my immorality, stealing, dishonesty, whatever it may be, I am saying, "Lord, I know it is sin." Second, we know from Scripture that Christ has paid the penalty for our sins by shedding His blood on the cross. And third, we must repent, which means we change our attitude toward that sin. This results in a change of action. When we do this, we have the promise that what we confess, God forgives, and He cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

When Mary understood the truth of God's promise, she surrendered all of her guilt and frustration to Jesus, who died for her, and she claimed God's forgiveness.

Only the Lord could liberate her from the darkness and gloom of Satan's kingdom and bring her into kingdom of light - the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Mary sensed God's immediate liberation and began to rejoice in the assurance of forgiveness and eternal life with Christ. She became a radiant, joyful and victorious witness for our Savior.

Friday Baby

Today is Zumba day 2. I'm gonna die! Then at 10:30 I have a friend coming over for coffee, it's a Jen day. Jennie and Zumba at 9am then Jen and coffee at 10:30am. Have I mentioned how I love having a house?? Anywho, then this afternoon I have to look into what school stuff I need for the boys. I hate that part of the school year. It's so overwhelming to me...I do believe tho that I will be signing up for Homeschool Advantage. They're having a sale right now where it's 1/2 off for the year. The boys enjoy the program so that's always a plus. Well time to dance!!

I had to laugh when I heard the story of two men who approached the great British preacher, C. H. Spurgeon, one day and told him, “Spurgeon, we have reached sinless perfection.” “Really?” he asked.

“Yes,” they said, “We are absolutely perfect.”



Spurgeon was holding a pitcher of water at the time, and he poured it on their heads. When they began to react like any other sinners would, he found out just how perfect they were.



You see, the people who walk around claiming to have reached sinless perfection are victims of one of the most powerful yet subtle sins: pride. None of us will reach sinless perfection—not in this life.



Granted, before we were Christians, we were under the control and power of sin. We went along with whatever our sinful natures dictated.

But something dramatic happened when we we saved. We were changed, Christ changed.



The Bible says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2nd Corinthians 5:17



That is not to say we still don’t struggle with sin and temptation. The Scripture clearly teaches that we will sin and that we will have lapses.

Although the Bible tells me I will sin, there is a difference between sinning and being sorry for it, and sinning habitually, persistently, and continually.



If someone claims to be a Christian and yet continues in sin, my question is whether that person has ever been truly saved.



Some people wonder whether such a Christian ever could lose his or her salvation. I would suggest that another question should be asked instead: Did he or she ever experience salvation to begin with?

FREEE BOOKSSS ROCK HARD!!!

So last week I posted on Twitter & FaceBook that I thought I received a book for free in the mail. I did. I still don't know how! I was putting books onto the newest bookshelf and decided to check out this book I had received. Thought I would see if it would be a stand alone or a series. Well not only did I discover it would be a trilogy but I got a first edition, not even available for sale yet copy!! WHAT?! I know! The copyright is August 2010. The sale for this book doesn't start until next week! I'm still confused and wondering how this happened. I of course sent a quick email to the publisher thanking them and inquiring how I came to be so blessed. I'll post their answer when it comes. How crazy is this!!

Anywho, been extremely busy dog sitting. And was working tons before that. Next week I have to get prepared to leave for a Tupperware convention the following week. Earlier this evening I pulled a weird muscle in my foot and can hardly walk now!! And Jennie and I are doing Zumba......well Zumba is killing us is more likely. It will be worth it in the end right???

On the news there was a story about an man whose house had been newly painted. Within days someone had spray-painted graffiti all over it. Who would have done something like this in his neighborhood, he wondered? He was angry and rightly so. At first he thought it was racially motivated. Someone did not like him living in their neighborhood.

He asked around hoping to find out who had spoiled his house. He found that the graffiti was painted by an eleven-year-old boy. It was nothing more than a childhood prank. What would you do if you discovered your newly-painted house covered with graffiti?

Suppose the culprit was an eleven-year-old boy? Would the police be called? Would you at least want to talk to the boy's parents? Would there be a lawsuit--after all somebody would have to pay for the damage? What would you do in that situation?

The man who was wronged could have made a big issue out of it. Instead, he decided to get to know the boy better. He was unsure of what would happen but he was willing to try. Thus a black man and a young white boy soon became friends. Instead of taking the boy and his parents to court, he decided to teach the boy about computers.

The news showed the young boy sitting at the computer in the man's house he had earlier spray-painted. The reporter asked him about the graffiti. The boy told the reporter that he was sorry for what he had done. He did not know why he had done it. "Mr. Stephens and I are friends now," he told the reporter. "He has taught me about computers."

That's somewhat of a surprise ending, isn't it? You might have expected to see the young boy scrubbing the graffiti off the man's house or giving the house a new coat of paint. You might have expected his parents to ground him for a month for his offense. But you would have never expected to see him in the man's den working on his computer.

There is a lesson here….

shhh it's a secret....

Got another bookcase from Big Lots today. Somehow I don't think it will be enough.... Over the weekend I got some cute plants & a plant stand for the front of the house. Last week Dave got 4 trees free from the city and planted them in the front yard. Our house is really coming along nicely. I'll take pics tomorrow and post them.

I find it rather easy to love those who love me. I love my parents, my wife and children, and my friends—no problem. I also find it fairly easy to love myself. Problem is, as Benjamin Franklin once pointed out: "He that falls in love with himself will have no rivals."

So we are called by the Lord to love another class of humanity: our enemies. Yet how to do it? Do we convince ourselves that our enemies actually deserve such a blessing? Impossible!

Here's the key: God loved us "while we were yet sinners." We didn't deserve salvation, but God saved us anyway. We can do likewise with those who persecute us.

I think the great writer and defender of the faith G.K. Chesterton put it perfectly: "The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost." If we see our enemies only in terms of the hurt they've caused, we may just want to hurt back. If we see their true humanity, their likeness to ourselves, their belovedness in the eyes of God, and their essential lostness—as we too were lost—well, then how can we help but reach out in love?

Lord- This week please help me to love my enemies, and help me not only to love them and see them as You see them, but to be a blessing to them. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

Taking a Breath Now....

wow.....what a week.....been working....a lot. Thank God too cuz we needed it bad! Yesterday I threw a 6lb chicken into the crockpot and dumped half a bottle of BBQ sauce on it. Set it on low and let it go all day. I think Dave fed the boys about 6pm. They pulled the chicken off the bones and made sandwiches for dinner. Well the chicken fell off the bones I should say. I had a sandwich when I got home from work and HOLY COW it was good. Who knew I could cook! LOL One of my Twilight Club girls moved away. :( Jazz we'll miss you sweety!!

In about 2 weeks I'm going to Orlando for a Tupperware convention. I used to love going to these things back when Kristin was on my team. We used to have so much fun together. Hopefully I'll still have fun. I know I will learn a lot and of course leave with a boatload of free Tupperware! And thanks to Kristin & Alice I now have an open house to do in a posh area. lol Should be fun! I'm gonna have to see if I can hook up Angela with her jewelry buz. K I'm done now. Onto a new book series! Well new to me....Oh and I read all the Morganville vamp books. They rock. Ta Ta for now....

It's no secret that this dealer knows how to present his goods to
their best advantage. He takes the dirty, the worn, the broken, and
transforms them into items of priceless value.

Similarly, Paul exhorts his fellow Christians to cleanse themselves
from the dust and debris of the soul so that nothing can keep them
from the noble purposes God has in mind for them. So that others outside the faith who look to believers and do not see immaturity.

Paul in this passage speaks plainly: flee that which hinders you from serving Christ wholeheartedly. Don't bother with senseless pursuits, and turn away from foolish conversations.

So each of us has to decide: Will I turn to the Lord and allow Him to burn away the dross from my life? Will I let Him replace it all with that which lasts forever?

The question is: Will I allow Him to have His way with me?

THE LORD'S BASEBALL GAME

Freddy and the Lord stood by to observe a baseball game. The Lord's team was playing Satan's.

The Lord's team was at bat, the score was tied zero to zero, and it was the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs. They continued to watch as a batter stepped up to the plate named
'Love.'

Love
swung at the first pitch and hit a single, because 'Love never fails.

The next batter was named
Faith, who also got a single because Faith works with Love.

The next batter up was named Godly Wisdom. Satan wound up and threw the first pitch.



Godly Wisdom
looked it over and let it pass: Ball one. Three more pitches and Godly Wisdomwalked because he never swings at what Satan throws.


The bases were now loaded. The Lord then turned to Freddy and told him He was now going to bring in His star
player. Up to the plate stepped Grace. Freddy said, 'He sure doesn't look like much!'

Satan's whole team relaxed when they saw
Grace..
Thinking he had won the game, Satan wound up and fired his first pitch. To the shock of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder than anyone had ever seen! But Satan was not worried; his center fielder let very few get by.




He went up for the ball, but it went right through his glove, hit him on the head and sent him crashing on the ground;

Love, Faith and Godly Wisdom could get on base but couldn't win the game. Freddy answered that he didn't know why..

The Lord explained, 'If your
love, faith and wisdom had won the game, you would think you had done it by yourself.Love, Faith and Wisdom will get you on base but only My Grace can get you Home:

I do Love God. He is my source of existence and Savior. He keeps me functioning each and everyday. Without Him, I am nothing, but with him:

Being a Christian would be easy if you didn't have to live with
anyone else! Imagine that the only requirement for being a Christian was to go some place private and just study the Scriptures. That way, you would have no contact with anyone else, no interference, no conflict. It could be much easier to live the Christian life.

But Christianity is so much more than just studying God's Word. It is a relationship with Almighty God. It is sharing that relationship with others. It is living in harmony with others who are all made in the image of God. In other words, we could live without the conflict; could we live without the love?

God knows that it can be difficult to love others who are different. Yet we are not to allow our differences to separate us. We are to live in harmony with one another as brothers and sisters.

I grew up with two sisters and a brother. Sometimes we would argue with each other, but I always knew that while we might argue, we were still brothers and sisters. We still loved each other. That is what God has in mind for all Christians.

Lord, help us to live in harmony with other Christians so that we might demonstrate Your love to the world. Help us to be that example You have called us to be, and showing the kind of love You have for us.

When I say that 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living.

I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.

I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.

I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

What a day yesterday was. We had pancake breakfast at church. Then we had a patriotic service. And then we had the church BBQ at our house and had a fantabulous time. Here are a few of the pics.

Yesterday was the Fourth of July, Independence day. As part of our worship service we sang the National Anthem. Before the service I was talking to our praise team leader Don and I asked what we were singing and he told me the Star Spangled Banner-both verses . I must have made some sort of a face because he asked me if I was familiar with the second verse. I said no and he showed me the words. Wow!



I read them and wondered if this verse would even be allowed to be sung in our prayerless schools. I wonder what would happen if we sung the second verse every time we sang the first in this country.



What am I talking about? Here is the second verse of our National Anthem. Read it slowly please and ponder what is happening to this country of ours. [My highlights]



O thus be it ever, when free men shall stand

Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven rescued land

Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation

whew...

OK, so it's Saturday. I believe I have finally gotten caught up on my sleep. If you and I are friends on FB or twitter then you know where I was Tuesday night. That's right...it was an Eclipse baby! Jennie and I took my Twilight Club girls to trilogy. Our night started at about 4:30pm getting ready. We checked into our hotel room provided by Jennie then we headed back to my house to await everyone's arrival. The girls were so excited. Everyone showed and we were off. About 20minutes later we were at the theater. My sis inlaw had arrived right before us and in total we had a group of 11. We got the 2nd row in the theater too. Awesome seats with the exception of the nasty old woman in front of us.

At 7:15pm Twilight started. WONDERBAR!! Lynn & Jennie both found prizes in their seat cup holders. Fantabulous Eclipse buttons! Lynn actually gave me hers. Thanks again luv! We watched Twilight and after it was over it was time for another drawing. Sarah won a t shirt!! So happy for her. New Moon starts. So close now. Only 2 hours. Jennie and I were counting down! Then there was another drawing. While that was going on the guys in front of us were talking about the books. One says "have you read the books?" the other says "no" then the first guy is like "oh I did. all 4 of them" I of course couldn't help it and busted out with "there are actually 5 now". Do you know that guy got all up in my face thinking I was referring to Midnight Sun and he was yelling at me for reading it illegally online. I laughed at him and told him I picked up the 5th book, Bree Tanner at Walmart 4 weeks ago. Really now, they don't call me Mama Twilight for nothing. Silly people.

Then it was Eclipse time. OH MY HEARTHROB!!! WOW thats all I can say. By far the best movie. And if you straight guys liked New Moon cuz of the action, then hold onto your hats boys. Eclipse totally rocked! Jennie & I will be seeing it again with the ladies from church. Then we'll see it again I'm sure just cuz. Yes...we're obsessed.

OK enough about dream land. Tomorrow is the 4th. Panacke breakfast @ church at 9am. Then we decided to host a BBQ for anyone who wants to come. Our church family of course will be in attendance. Dave's friends from work are said to come. Will be fun. Can't wait to celebrate our great country's freedom with our friends in our new home!!
