It's an Eclipse Day!!!

Today is gonna be a long crazy day! First right after dropping Dave off at work at 6:50am, Brandon and I hit walmart. He has been wanting a PS3 for forever. Well for his 16th birthday his grandpa gave him $200. He used that combined with some other money he got and his brothers all chipped in the rest. Now we have a 250gb PS3. Boys are thrilled of course. Pulling him away from the set up this morning to start his schooling was funny. He's such a fine young man. I'm so proud of him, and how he has turned out. Now if only he would get a job!!

At 11am the girls and I will be hitting 2 malls. First I gotta hit JC Penney at the pompano mall cuz they just called and my ring is ready. Dave & the boys got me a gorgeous ring for mommy day and I sent it in to be re-sized like a week ago. Can't wait to get it back!! Then we're headed out west to a bigger mall that has Hot Topic. The store was supposed to get in new Eclipse merchandise on Sunday. We'll see if they did. Then we'll have lunch and check out the rest of the mall. Then it's back to good 'ol p-no to pick up Dave from work. Then back to the house and play with our new Eclipse stuff!! YAY! Then I have choir at 5:30 then dinner at 6:30 then Bible study at 7pm. Long day!!

Have a great one!

And the evil spirit answered and said, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?" Acts 19:15

Ever watch those TV shows where people do daring and dangerous things - things you might be tempted to think you could do? But there's always a disclaimer 'don't try this at home', or 'don't try this on your own'.

With that in mind let's read: 'God did extraordinary miracles through Paul ... handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.

Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this ...

One day the evil spirit answered them and said, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Acts 19:15-16

Paul was so empowered by God that he made ministry look easy. So these guys thought, 'I can do that too'. No, you can't - unless God equips you, you'll fall flat on your face!

The seven sons of Sceva were attracted by the wrong things. They wanted the power that Paul had, but they didn't want to pay the price that Paul paid.

God doesn't empower you to do your own thing, He empowers you to do His thing; which is the only thing that matters. Spirit-empowered living cannot be imitated, duplicated, bought, borrowed, or faked - and without it you're no match for the enemy!
